Student Story
Thabishion was a bright young man, whose graduation plans had been put in jeopardy.
He was finishing his last semester, and decided to speed up getting his degree by enrolling in an on-line (self-study) course COMP 272, offered by Athabasca University.
Unfortunately, he did not have extensive CS /programming experience and the material felt overwhelming.
He was really at a point where he feared his plan of getting precious course credits (not to mention the financial investment) was going to an oblivion ... very fast.
I helped out Thabishion with his assignments (he did solve them himself, but I had set him up for success with progressively more challenging questions) and was happy to report he went through the final exam with confidence and clarity.
After examining the course structure under the 'magnifying glass', I can understand students having issues completing assignments and absorbing course material.

FAQ
-
How are sessions conducted?
via a Skype meeting. Google hangouts is another alternative, but in terms of reliability Skype is much better.
-
Are you going to solve the assignments for me?
That would be unethical. I do set students up for doing the work themselves, and support every step of the way. That is fair!
-
What code will I be getting?
- Everything we coded together.
- All support code that I'm using.
- All info from plug-ins, etc. Bottom line, you'll be able to replicate my demos and explanations without retyping.
-
Do you provide your own explanations?
I do, and you can save yourself a bit of money when those resources are converted to video format (work in progress status, atm). Those resources are complementary to the service.
-
What are the fees?
$40/hr. A complementary half and hour session is available upon request to ... test drive the experience.
